I have a 2G 7 bolt that I am finishing up the 2.3 stroker install on and will be starting the motor this week. I have a few questions in the meantime:

Are there any special settings in DSM link that I have to change since I'm running a 2.3 now instead of 2.0? Will my airflow readings and such be accurate?
I also have to pass emissions this month and wondered if I will have any problems passing since they think it's a 2.0 still? Do I have to tell them I have a 2.3 or should I keep that a secret? Will I be penalized or anything for swapping a larger motor in? Is there a tax or something? If I tell them that I don't want them to scratch my rims, will they only do an idle test?

Thanks,

A

Are you still running a mass air meter? If so you shouldn't need to make any changes, and if it passed emissions before it should still pass emissions.

It won't matter if you tell them you don't want them to scratch your rims. When I used to work there if you needed a certain test and said that I would tell you to go home and put the stock ones back on. Really if you have it tuned right it should fast pass because your turbo is large enough that it won't even get to spool before it should fast pass. Swapping engines and doing all that crap is more hastle than its worth to tell them. You would have to go through a crapload of paperwork. I would just go with what you have, you will be all good. Hope you enjoy the new found torque.

Thanks for the input! I'm going to try and tune it as close to stock as I can and hope for the best. I assume that it should run pretty clean being a new ingine and all. I'm still running the GM Maf but haven't had to test it with that on yet, I had the stock MAS prior. I'll try and postpone the testing as long as I can to break in the motor.
BTW, anyone have a 3" cat I can borrow? Or a gutted 3"??

Thanks,

A
