I remember about a year or so ago I got a set of axxis (pbr) ultimate pads for like $90 shipped but I am having a hard time finding either that place or another place that sells them for anything less than about $130 shipped now. Do any of you guys run these? I love the crap out of them =D

I use to until Carl drove my car once.:D

Try some Porterfield R4-S pads instead. I would even prefer EBC Green pads over these.

Really? I thought I was hard on brakes! I have only gotten them to fade marginally under repeated high speed (100+mph) stops and the only time I had a pad failure was when I had a rear caliper completely seize up and the rotor was almost gone before the pad was. The R4-S I have heard nothing but good about, but I have heard people say the green stuff sucked pretty bad. But they are also both at least $50 more it seems also. I had a friend who used the ultimates and didn't like them also but he had the small single piston front brakes and the car definitely felt way worse.

Depending on the weight of the car and the braking you intend on doing Hawk and PF both make killer pads as well, although you'll pay considerably more for them.

I would put auto store "semi-metallic" pads on my car before I'd ever buy EBC Greens again.

When the EBC Greens first came out I put a set on the Red 96. They seemed to work fine. I know the Metro student from Japan (I certainly can't remember his name) ran them at Second Creek. I think they lasted the day is all.

I would still pick the Greens over the Axxis pads. Of course I am partial to Porterfield's for a stock brake system.

When the Axxis pads start fading and that red light is coming fast presents an uncomfortable feeling. It happened to me once - which is too often.

Well I guess I just don't abuse them enough to need a more expensive pad. I have done over 150 down to 0 on the pads about as hard as I could push them and managed to melt the dust seal out of a caliper but the pad held up fine with no noticable fade and made several hard stops right after it with no problem. It's looking like I can get them from a guy on ebay for $90 shipped hopefully, hooray for ebay.

Make sure you keep the brake fluid fresh.

Hey, if they work for you that is what counts.
