Can anyone recommend a codec pack to download (for a Wintel box)? One without spyware, etc. please.

On my home PC (Windows XP) I always do the Codec all in one packs
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Codec_Pack_All_in_1.htm

If they are Wintel specific grab a few and send them too me...I'll check them out and make sure they are clean. Plus if there is something I'll add them to Spy Sweepers definitions so you can clean them out if you want to keep that specific codec. To be honest we don't see to many codec packs that are adware infected. They're usually trojan downloaders or phishers (which aren't codec's at all and drop a lot of adware in the end). If your worried send it my way. I'll check it out for ya.

I need to talk to you anyways about your valve spring compressor.

Found this searching google for Wintel codec's...
http://codeccorner.com/html/codecAVI1.html

Might help...

<edit>No this does not help...it mentions CinePak which they talk about new versions for Wintel's. That's it.</edit>

I've used Cole2k (http://www.cole2k.net/) in the past--any thoughts on that? Seems to have more than the All in One.

Let me know on the valve spring compressor--for once, it's actually in my posession at the moment! :p

I still use the Klite and nimo codec packs. I don't know if they are current anymore but I never have problems with them.

Looks like Nimo is considered out-of-date (hasn't been updated in 4 years), but Klite is fairly recent. I'll probably just go with Cole2k again since I've used it before; apparently they just released a new version a few weeks ago, so it should be up to date. Thanks for the help!
