I was so proud of my new gauge setup I made yesterday with a drill and a utility knife that I had to show it off since this thing needs a few posts. Decided against the A-piller and dash bezel and I'm going to sell them off. The nice thing is my laptop sits just above where the passanger's legs would be on a stand, so this will be really nice for viewing with the AEM dashboard also.

I like them except for the gauges in the vents. It looks a little...odd.
They're like cockpits at night, hm? Hehe.

Much easier to see for me or anyone helping me tune
For me there is so much going on in yours I'd be distracted. I only want lights for 2 things...shifting and knock. :D
But now I have this mess to move argh...

ahhhh...good call. Does look nice. Maybe now that mine are there I'll switch to that in the future. Is that from a site that sells them or is that one a DIY?

That's pretty cool. Looks like there is more room than just a couple of guages too, or is that where the vents are to fit the back side?

Good god, Chris. Have enough gauges? :D
Looks nice though, very clean install considering you have infinity gauges.

Thanks...still have a tach to go though. So I'll have infinity +1 :D
I figured it wasn't bad considering I only used a 3/8's drill bit and a utility knife. Felt kinda like Macgyver.

Chris, your gauge setup has nothing on this one:
One (http://estore.teamprototype.com/i.php?type=f&img=talon_jason/c_04)
Two (http://estore.teamprototype.com/i.php?type=f&img=talon_jason/c_07)
A mere 16 gauges, not including the SAFC. I'm not sure I could even come up with 16 different things to monitor?! :p

True that. There is a lot there. I ended up with a 5" tach now too. Nothing fancy other than its a Phantom 5" 10K RPM tach, infact it's an indash even beacause I wanted a basic one without memory or shift lights. My RPMs were about 400 off (behind) when racing last year. With all this weight off the rotating assembly I was really worried the stock tach would be to far off this year. So now I'm trying to figure out another place to mount a big gauge. Thinking I'm going to do the tach mounted on the 10 point when I get those arms in, but until then it'll go above the middle vents I guess.
Side track a little...so you're not going to run an AEM dashboard setup when you get your EMS up? I bet I could figure out 16 things to monitor on that. I already made mine for my laptop, and when I'm finished building up the drivetrain I'm going to build a MiniITX computer with a 8" flat monitor for running the AEM dashboard all the time to monitor everything and run the EMS.

I really don't want to deal with having to wait for a computer to boot up, etc. With the serial datastream in v1.19, suddenly this becomes an option:
Blingity Bling (http://www.aimsports.com/products/AEM-digital-display/index.html)
Very nice, but also very pricey. This guy (http://www.gauge-tech.com/) has talked of releasing something more along the lines of the MXL, and it's way cheaper.
In the meantime, I'm frying the big fish and letting this one sit on the side. :p

I didn't stare at that page for long, but $1000 to $2300 doesn't seem bad. At least not after shopping for a Stack. Looks to do most of the things the Stack does.

I figured you'd go MiniATX board and put a P4 3.6Ghz in there with 512mb RAM. Who needs boot times with that?

That MXL is very nice. Not sure if I'd like that other one. The MXL might be the missing link for Erron to go to the EMS. Your right though it is worth letting this one sit a while for the prices to come down more. Since the EMS logs without the laptop the onboard computer isn't as key for me as it was when I was using DSMLink and the NHRA was outlawing laptops in car.

If the EMS were going into a turny-turny car, the MXL Pista or Pro would be awesome. For a drag-only car, the entry price on the Strada is pretty steep. Eh, I'll have plenty of time to think about it--car doesn't run yet anyway. ;)
