Hello Folks,
Last time her car timing belt broke but it didn't damage the head. So the problem was fixed. This time it has two different problems.
1st. When the gear is in reverse the car doesn't reverse and make weird noises.
2nd. The Drive gear works but it makes very loud grinding noises too.
It doesn't have any CEL. The car starts and the engine runs fine. Could you guys give me some suggestions to what could have caused the problems.
Thanks,
V

I'm guessing something is very wrong with your transmission.

I am thinking on the same line too. Usually how much does it cost to fix the problem mentioned above ?

+1 on the tranny
Is this an Auto or Manual? You may want to shoot jack an email, as far as I know he's the best for DSM trannies. http://www.jackstransmissions.com/
There's enough guys here that work with Jack they'd proably be able to tell you a rough estamate of pricing.

Jack's transmissions are about as good as you'll get, and I've personally seen him work on a Spyder GS with a manual, so you should be good to go. THe only way to get an accurate price is to call him.

Here's the page for the basic pricing on his rebuild/upgrades:
prices (http://www.jackstransmissions.com/index.php?cPath=1&osCsid=705a38c8f5ff8943f634cefd61413245)
But I would say give him a call (719) 243-5305 Tuesday 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM
Wednesday through Saturday 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM

Thanks for all the replies guys. It's an automatic transmission. Hopefully it doesn't cost a lot she is still in school.

Just as a response to this I would like to say that it is almost ALWAYS cheaper if you actually pull the transmission to just replace it with a used one rather than rebuild it. If you don't need a stellar rebuild to hold down your power then a used stock replacement is the most economical solution. I think I have blown up 3 or 4 used transmissions over the course of owning my car now and it's still cost me less than a worthwhile good rebuild would.

I agree with you guys. Hopefully i have time to pull it out of the car.
However, usually how much does it cost to have it rebuild ?
Thanks
