well my EGT gauge died about a week ago so i figured it was the probe so i odered the TRE got it connected and now it still doesn't work.. i have triple checked that all the wires are connected so i was just wondering if it possible to fry your EGT gauge??? oh its a Greddy BTW

It's possible to fry any gauge. That doesn't mean you did it though
I have no experience with the Greddy personally, but from what I remember it's a clip type of connection right? I remember trying to help someone with a similar problem several years ago. I don't remember the result (if he bought a new one or not), but I remember unplugging and plugging it back seemed to get different connections. We used a multi meter to check the the wires for signals to see if they were in range. I'm sure one of the electric guys can be more specific, but all those work on is .0-.5volt signal that should be coming from the probe to the gauge. Check the greddy site for your hook up directions if you don't have them or google it to see what wires should be putting out what signals, and check them each before and after the connection. May shed some light for you. Hopefully one of the electrical geeks jumps this thread for more specifics for you. I'm not good at explaining this stuff.
