I have a 91 AWD and the other day my driveshaft snapped just before where it attaches to the transfer case. I don't know much about these things, but I'm wondering if I need to find a whole driveshaft or if it disconnects in sections. These things are fairly easy to find, right? I haven't heard of many people having these break. Thanks for any advice.

The driveshaft broke or the ujoint?

if it's the slip yoke. (forwardmost portion of the driveshaft including the front U-joint) then you may be SOL.
Mitsubishi and Chrystler stopped production of the retro-fit kits some time back. The guys at Mile High Mitsu told me the last time I twisted one that I should pick them up while I can. That they were no longer available from Mitsu.
Now if it's the input shaft you're talking about(shaft from trans to transfer case), then that's a different story. Those can still be had almost everywhere.
