What brand computer is it?
I was doing a reimage of a Dell lately, and I have an extra xp license from another IBM computer that I have...well I tried to use the license code but it wouldn't accept it? Does the brand have to be the same to install windows with the same serial code?

I had an unlimited license xp pro disk a friend got me from my old school. I can try hunting around for it tonight. On a similar note, is there any good reason to upgrade to xp 64 or vista or anything yet? I mean they seem like they would be good in theory but does software/hardware actually take advantage of any features they offer yet for better performance or is it still not worth the effort?

Vista is comming out with SP1 soon, but they already have Windows 7 in the works...
98 comes out, and it was good. People see 2k and want an upgrade.
ME comes out and it was bad... 2-3 years later XP comes out... And it was good.
Vista comes out... and it is bad...
Does anyone see a reoccuring theme?
If you can stick with XP until your computer is obsolete then get a new computer with W7 on it. At least that's what I'm doing.

Is the license key for volume license or OEM? RTM or sp2? 32bit?
Probably XakEp's 6-1 would do it, assuming this is all 6 version on one disk.
You could download the media from ISOhunt or the likes, burn to disk and use your (sister's) license key. I do not even know if it is out there for download; chances are it is.
If I was motivated I could host an ISO file for download.:p

One not-so-legal alternative is LASTXP - a custom XP install with all Windows Updates (as of build date), drivers for damn near every hardware device out there. Also comes with tons of extra apps, Vista mods, and more.
