This is more or less a day test. It is $35 to go and get your vehicles teched for the whole year and run all day if you and your car can. There is a ton of us already planning on being there. Would be awesome to see as many dsm's out early this year if we could. There will be a strong showing of the local CSM community as well.

So if you all can make it out it would be a blast. Lets hope the weather cooperates.

I usually go to the first test day of the year and I have to tell you it is the best day. Usually nice cool weather, not very many people, and of course instead of being on an inconvenient Wednesday night it is on a Saturday.

The last two times we went on opening day, traction was horrible. Granted there was not a lot of folks to run, but the track was crap from the winter. This year should be no different with all the work they have done ove the winter.

I actually prefer the wednesday night events. Granted they are crowded, but you get to see true street cars out there. And I usually work the weekends, so getting the time is hard. But wednesday nights I could alwyas be there for.

I'd like to be there. Just wondering, what is the price after this event.

I'll be up there with my roller skates. I've been in the garage doing leg extensions and squats all winter long. I'm gonna pwn you all. Then die of a heart attack.

I haven't had traction problems at Bandimere for years. I actually have a theory on this, but I don't know enough about traction compound to be sure.
I'll use a shoe analogy to show what I'm thinking. If you are running on the sidewalk, cleats will be very slippery and will give you all kinds of problems, but running shoes will give great traction. On soft (wet/muddy) grass, cleats will rule the land and running shoes will suck.
From what people have said, the traction compound Bandimere uses is very sticky and gooey. This would be more like the "grass" in my shoe analogy. Many people are running soft tires with minimal tread grooves and complaining about traction. I actually use all season radials and never have traction problems. I think the problem is when you have a soft track and soft tires, there is nothing to grip. My knobby tires "dig into" the soft sticky traction compound and so I get consistently good 60' times (unless I bog). I don't know if this is true or not - just an observation. I do know that if I use the same launch settings on the street that I use at Bandimere, I'll smoke my tires and hit the rev-limiter almost instantly. Do people with soft tires who have traction problems at Bandimere also have this kind of problem on the street?

Roller skates are for people who drink Coke.

I however, have my roller blades, will whoop you, and I drink Pepsi.

And.....I'll be there in which ever car is working at the time.

i probably won't be ready by the 12th but the 19th or 20th could work out great. Either way i can't wait to get out there and try out the new track!

Do they allow normal street cars to pass a single tech inspection that is valid for the entire season? I don't understand how that works, I only play race and haven't ever done it competitively.

I can imagine that you could pass a tech inspection in April and be running an entirely different setup in June; is it honor system based?

You have register in order to tech for the year.

Registration is $40.

If you run faster then you were teched for, then you would have to retech for your time.

I am looking at the NHRA Rules and it looks like most classes require an engine diaper or containment device to prevent liquid spills - is that a recent change? I haven't really heard much chatter about it.

That was a change like 2 years ago, the only time I've seen it loosely enforeced is at actaul NHRA events in the heads up classes.

Bandimere doesnt enforce it, ie, test and tunes and Street Tuner Mayhem
