made my c.o.p. set up today. noticeable throttle response, idle, and acceleration.

i was going to spend 200 odd dollars from one on ebay but decided to build my own because wouldnt be able to justify the money spent if there really wasnt no gain from it.

my friends little bro blew the motor in his intrepid about two months ago and just talked him out of the four coils and pig tails i needed for free, since hes just letting his car sit there. the metal sheet i paid 6 doolars at home depot. so this set up was only 6 bucks! the shielded wires and solder i had. the plate is kinda of flimsy but fuctional.

6 bucks for added performance, and hour and half of my life, i like it:D 279

So, you are running this without any type of ignition system (other than stock)? Have you noticed any tuning issues or anything out of the ordinary? I have 5 or 6 coils sitting in my closet but was under the understanding that it wouldn't run very good without an ignition system.

Shouldnt hurt performance, there just isnt any added benefit unless your stock coils were already crap.

They do clean up the look of the engine bay though.

my stock coil pack was good just put new plugs in after the seafoam. its not a huge performance gain but there is definately a difference in the idle and throttle response. yea i like the clean up it did to the engine bay.

yea im running it with no ignition system. just stock. there was no mention of a ignition system being needed. no proplems with the peformance of the car at all, it fired up immediately and ran fine.
