Hi,
Do any of you have recommendations on places that tint car windows? Please let me know who you have had good luck with.
Thanks,

Where are you located?
I got my windows tinted at Midnight Audio and Tint in Longmont, and they did a pretty good job. The passenger side window had a scratch in it, and they fixed it no questions asked.
They have 30, 20, 15, 10, and limo (5%). I put 15% on my windows all around, and I love it.

In Littleton area.... Tint Crafters at Wadsworth and Quincy behind the carwash.
They use to do what ever you wanted (ie 5% al around), but I dont know if they wil do that anymore.
My Jetta has 5% all around and its been on there for 5 years and hasnt faded, bubbled or anything. Looks as good as the day they put it on.

Norm Schilling, Quality Tint and Clearbra

Quality is an understatement, he's beyond compare. Worth the drive even if you're in Oregon.

Norm's tinted all my cars since 1995.
I lived in Ft. Collins and had my Volvo tinted at Auto Trim where he worked. I didn't even know him yet.
He really does great work.

Since 27% light transmission is the legal limit in Colorado, have cash on hand if you want anything darker. Shops probably don't want illegal stuff on the books, knawmean?
Off the record, I think it's silly to get anything darker. I could barely see anything out my windows at night with 27%.

Time to bring back an old topic...
Does anyone know if Norm at Quality Tint and Clearbra will do anything besides 27%? I'd like to go 10-15% but not sure if he will or not and I'm pretty sure he won't say over the phone...
If not, then Muck diesel....where is that place in Thornton?

IIRC, Norm once said he would do darker than legal if paid in cash.

Cool, thanks.
Does anyone else know where that place in Thornton is? Name? I'd like to check them out before I head up to Ft. Collins...

As far as I know, he's not going to even discuss it unless he has personally heard of you, knows you, or someone he knows vouches for you.

...Which makes sense, as it is illegal, and can have a profoundly negative impact on his business if he's caught.

I vote for Norm. Bring cash. A DSM will run between 2-300. I have several Norm jobs. Some are a few years old.
Norm is the best in the state and I used to be in the business.

Norm has done bumpers for me that other professional clear bra installers said simply could not be done. When they saw them, they were baffled and amazed. His window work is the best, bar none.

Norm is THE best!!! Im going to him after the 1st of the year to get 2 cars clear bra'd. I bought my 95 talon with his tint on it and the only reason its faded any is because it was sitting outside for a full year uncovered.

Yet another vote for Norm. He did my 2g a long time ago and it still looks fabulous. At least for me, it was well worth the trip from Castle Rock to FC.
Quality product.
Quality work.
Period.

Oops...thanks for catching that. My wife had my windows tinted as a b-day present to me, so I haven't actually been to Norm's shop in something like 5 years. :p
Carl or Mike P, could you update the Preferred Vendors page? I'd offer to do it, but I don't think I have access to the server any more.

...Aaaannnd updated. FYI, folks, moderating two other forums leaves me stretched wide enough that I often miss things here on this one. If you need something on the website updated - anything - shoot me a PM.
Thanks. :D
