View Full Version : Rich condition after Hot Start

So from cold I start the car and let it warm up. The AFRs are correct at idle and across the rpm range. Now if I turn it off and then back on it runs rich almost like it's not warmed up, but coolant temp is fine. As long as I let it idle for 4 or 5 minutes till the AFRs come back up, it runs perfectly. If I don't it'll run rich until I let it idle for awhile. I've bypassed the fuel pressure solenoid with no change. Don't know if this has happened since I bought it, just put the wideband in a few weeks ago. I have no idea where to look for the answer.

At idle it will show high 12s low 13s on the AFR. I have it adjusted to high 15s at idle and during cruise. When it is runnin rich tho, it is across the board under boost as well as off boost. During WOT I normally see mid to low 11 AFRs, when it's in this rich condition, high 9s and low 10s. It also feels sluggish when it's stuck in the rich thing as well, but timing doesn't appear to be any different either way. I can post a log, just not sure what I should capture for this.

Is your fuel pressure regulator stock? If you could find another one, it may be worth a try.

Log your idle switch in link. Make sure the ecu is sensing the idle being closed or else it wont try to idle. Also make sure you TPS is correct. Should be reading 0-1% on its own. Any higher and the car might not want it to idle which will cause a rich condition.
