Well I have made one closer transition to being domesticated... LOL. The wife and I just bought a new (used) Black 2008 Rav4 Limited V6.. The Civic and Talon just were not cutting it for carting the 4 mo. old around anymore..
I have to admit even though it is a grocery getter I am very impressed.. Its friggen fast for grocery getter! (Motor trend puts the 0-60 time at 6.3 secs!) All in all I really like the vehicle so far, though I haven't had much of a chance to drive it yet. I'm still waiting for the owner to contact me with the title.. But I have to say I got a Heck of a deal on this thing!!
The story:
After being screwed over by Mountain States Toyota.. (Advertisement: DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!!) they called me, quoted me an out the door price on a new one, and of course after going down to the dealership and verifying that this was the price, they wouldn't honor it because they made a math error. Long story short, the "director of new car sales" ended up asking me, my wife and 4mo. old to leave, because he said "he would rather lose us as a customer than lose money on the deal..."
Anyway, I ended up with a much better deal in the end... So this gal had a 2008 with only 5600 miles up for sale for $25,700. I called her, asked her why she was selling it.. she bought it in May, but ended up getting a new job that came with a company car, so she just wanted to get out of the pmts.. I offered her $24,500, and she agreed.
It's loaded! Black, Tan and Black Leather interior, JBL high end stereo with sub, blue tooth for the phone, Heated seats, Sun roof. Just about every option they came with! Barely driven, very nice all in all.
The sad part is she still owed $29,900 on the car, and to complete the deal, she had to pay the bal of almost $5500!
I picked it up thurs. As soon as I get the title from her, it will become my daily driver.. (The wife doesnt wanna give up driving her Honda..) Oh dang!! LOL.
