View Full Version : Should I Sell Them?

First of all, I really don't want to do this because they are sweeeet, but the price is going to kill me. I have a set of Wilwood 6-piston calipers with 13.1" slotted rotors on my car. I am in need of a new set of rotors, which I believe comes out to well over 200$. Now here's the thing, I could get some money out of these things, buy some stock brakes with some semi-performance pads, and drive off with some money in my pocket.

I don't road race and am not planning on racing any time soon. I do really like these brakes for obvious reasons, but they are a little more than what I need and could really use the cheaper stock setup right now.

Do you think I will be sorry if I sell them and go with some stockers and good pads? I know stock is pretty good for street use as I have ridden in a car that went from quite a high speed to 10mph in about half a second with the stock stuff:D(ErikW, I still worship your car:p).

Anyhoo, what'll it be?

If you don't plan on road racing I'd sell them. My stock brakes work pretty well with SS lines and Hawk HPS pads for street use.

Agreed with what was said above. It's never a bad idea to have good brakes on a car at any time, but they would really be wasted if they were not used as they were meant to be.

Heh. What are the odds my car will ever be let on a track?

I am actually looking for some 6-pistons for a race car if you choose to sell them :)

Frankly, with those Wilwoods the tires are going to give before the brakes do...probably extreme overkill for your needs.

Dang, I was hoping you guys would say I am crazy for thinking about selling them:p Oh well, anyone want to give me some money for them and I will buy them back from you this summer? LOL:D

Unless you know something I don't, your estimate on the rotor price is actually quite low (more like $330 for the pair, plus shipping). So as much as I like the brakes, it's hard to tell someone it's worth the price if the car won't see a track.

Use a good street pad for street driving and they will last longer. Or just get Stoptech's - they will last a lifetime with the pad they give you.;)

I was thinking the price was low too. IIRC I paid $130 ea for rotors, but they were not slotted.

Im looking for calipers for the 911, was going to use BoxsterS/996 monoblocks but if the price is right on the Wilwoods I would be happy to buy them :) I wouldnt need the brackets etc I dont think, just the calipers.
