Shorter laptop pwr cables

Anyone know how to shorten up computer power cables, or where to buy a shorter set for a Compaq Evo laptop?

I just completed a custom laptop/power inverter/fire extinguisher rack that bolts in place of the passenger front seat, so I only need a power cable-AC/DC adapter that is 1 foot long max. instead of the 6-footer the laptop came with. If not, I'll just make some brackets for the underside of the rack to wrap all the excess cabling around.

FWIW- I'll post a pic of the completed rack bolted in place to my gallery next week for those who may be interested.

You bet James. I'm assuming that you have an 2.1mm female to male plug on the computer, not the one that looks like an S video cable? If that the case and you don't mind wrecking the one you have, a simple cut, solder, and heat shrink is all that's needed. I can help you if you need it buddy.
