So ABS on a 1g is in general, fairly crappy, but it's probably better than having nothing at all.

I'm looking for peoples opinion on whether to keep ABS or not on my 92. I've had everything needed to remove it for a few years, but could never bring myself to do it.

My DSM is mainly a weekend car. I'd like to do a few autocrosses in it eventually, but that's about as much racing as it'll probably see. If you have an opinion, I'd love to hear it and why you think that way. Thanks!

ABS delete was one of my first and best mods. The 1g ABS is horrible.

I like to play in the snow and it makes it IMPOSSIBLE to control the car when there is that little traction. Even on dry/wet pavement I prefer to lock a tire and back off to the ABS. It kicks in too early, is very inconsistent, and makes it way harder to rotate the car. Just remember if you overshoot and lock the tires at corner entry to let off the brake at the last split second so you can still turn ;)

If you are feeling extra adventurous I recommend getting rid of the split system, redoing all your lines, and running an adjustable proportioning valve. That is if you know what you are doing with adjusting it and know how to keep the car safe still.

Thanks Brian. Most of the reading I'm doing also suggests that ditching the 1g ABS was the preferred direction for other road racers and autocrossers. I've heard some 2g systems aren't too bad, but I 100% agree that the 1g ABS is horribly slow and sensitive.
