Is this a stock cam???

Here is another marking on the same cam, also please look at the grooves it shows some type of surface wear. Is this common, or is there something wrong?

I had to use pry bars to get the head off, don't ask me why... I was already frustrated; does it look like I damaged anything?

A view from the block, will this need to be resurfaced also?

Next time I will take my time, but for now I have to live with what I did. I have ordered a master gasket set already, and it is going to a machine shop for work. Should I spend more money and get guides for both sides or should I wait till the machinist tells me what to do?

Looks like a stock cam, but hard to tell with it in the car and not seeing the letter identification mark on the outer side end (not the one in the pic, but on the end of the cam there is one).

Can't tell how much wear is on there from the pics, but unless you can feel the grooves with your finger nail you should ok.

Make sure the block and head surfaces are flat with a straight edge and you should be fine. Unless you overheated the block you most likely will not need either decked, but it wouldn't hurt to do anyways.

The block guides should be fine unless you cannot slip the head back on for some reason. I've only had this happen with one block and it still went on, just not very easy. As long as they are unharmed (not damaged) and in the block all the way you should be fine with them also.

Thank you Chris, I didn't have any problems with over heating. I just had to get my tranny replaced, so I decided to replace all the seals while I was at it.
