View Full Version : 2G doesn't sit level

So I changed out my suspension again this weekend cause I thought my springs were sagging on the drivers side. I put on some coilovers, adjusted them so that there is the EXACT same wheel gap (from the top of the tire to the fender well). And the car still sits lower on the drivers side. How is it possible to have the same wheel gap on all four wheels but the distance from the ground to the fender well is about 1/2" lower on the drivers side rear?!?!?
Do I have funky control arms or something?

I read somewhere in the VFAQ site that they just tend to "lean" slightly on the drivers side. You may not notice it if you tilt your head to the side, or you can also counteract the effect by offering rides to obese hitchhikers.

Obese Hitchhikers slow me down.. :)
I've just never seen another 2G lean like this. It's really strange.

Thanks, I'm curious but I think it's the car itself. I'll have to measure some of the subframe stuff.

So you are saying, that from the top of the tire to the fender is the same as the other side... but the ground to the fender is different from the other side? You do realize that means that you have to be running a different size tire on one side than the other... Unless you are measuring from different points when you measure wheel gap vs when you measure 'ride height.' Please elaborate on how you are measuring.

That's exactly what I'm saying!! I checked the tires sizes and they are all the same. Once I get it running I'll make sure they are all at the same pressure and maybe it will settle in since I haven't moved it since I put it on the ground.

Are all tires the same brand/make? Even though they are the same height, some tires still are different then others.

Yep, all the same brand/make. I bought the complete set about 8 months ago and have put maybe 200 miles on them. I'll check tire pressure and maybe roll the car out of the garage. I'm thinking since I set it down off the jack stands maybe the suspension is flexed a bit.
