What mods do you have done? I have an E3 on my car and I'm running 22-23psi. I have stock head and stock internals. It really depends on what mods you have done and the tune on the car.

An E3 can produce a bit of boost, but on the stock wastegate it'll max out around 25psi. If you have an external gate you could see 30+psi.

I have a stock wastegate and my 16g hits about 32-34psi and drops too 24-26psi by redline. This is on e85 with a very strong timing curve. Makes a lot of tq downlow expecially on stock cams.

I also have stock rebuilt longblock.

I'm making the same sort of boost as Jay is, on a 7 bolt with 1g rods/2g pistons. It can produce more than that...I think Jack was running one up to about 39psi, but they are way inefficient at that level. Taking one up to a high spike above 30psi would probably be death to stock 2g rods if you are doing it frequently. With a proper tune and supporting mods, I'd think that you could probably run mid to high 20's psi on a stock 7 bolt bottom end. As Jay stated, these turbos can be really torque happy since they spool so quickly, so having a knock-free tune will be important to keep from bending rods.

Of course, you'll need more fuel and some way to tune the car to do this.

20psi and pump and you should be fine provided you have the supporting mods (fuel, fuel control, etc) and your head gasket and thrust bearing are in good shape.

I think Jack said he had logs of 40+psi and it would hold over 30psi to redline. Thats why he spiked it so high.

Im going to an hx40 8/12 blade very soon and going to retire my old 16g.

The WG flapper in mine when I ran an E316G was welded shut. On my stock 2.0L engine it would go up to 39PSI and hold there. Well, the head wasn't stock I guess, but the bottom end was. I always think it's funny when people ask what boost their engine can handle. They need to buy a book because they are going to blow it up. Maximun Boost by Corky Bell is a common good book to read so you know what to do to modify a vehicle correctly for your goals. Even though it's a little old now, most of what you need to know would be in there. The only thing that it doesn't cover that I think is important for today is E85, but I guess that could be looked at as the same as race gas.

Me too. It's become somewhat of a ricer badge of pride, like good dyno numbers or track times are for the rest of us. I might ask someone at Bandimere what they're 60ft time is, or what they trap at. Ricers ask people in parking lots how much boost they run. :D

Nope Subaru Station Wagon WRX. I thought it was cool if he had a fast Station Wagon and had to talk to him.

He then went to say he had a gt4202r Integra that made 550whp on 15psi of boost. I kind of stopped the conversation after that.

i have very few mods so far. A greddy Ti-c exhasut a recirced Blow off valve and an injen intake a stock ported manifold. The motor was rebuilt around 30K ago by Mile High Mitsubishi. The little T25 on the car is blown so i decided now is the perfect time to upgrade.

An E3 would be a good start for you then. Toss it on and keep the boost down until you get your fuel system and tuning setup figured out. Your car will run the turbo at stock boost levels without any issue.

I like my Big16G. I'm running mine at 15psi right now without problems.

I only plan on boosting 20-22psi with injectors and a DSMLink in the future.
