2g- Replacing Steering Wheel Column/Ignition

Okay, I am getting my car back now and need to replace the ignition and steering wheel column im assuming. Anyone have any experience doing this? Ignitions seem to be fairly cheap, but what about getting it rekeyed for my original keys?

I do. I've removed a few steering locks now for SCCA compliency.

But why re-key if you're going to part it?
