2006 Dodge Charger with 5.7 hemi Head damage.

Well it is looking like the hemi heads will start dropping intake valve seats.

Its not pretty when it happens, It looks worse than when the Ford Escort 1.9l/2.0l heads do.

The seat had total fallen out and also took out the piston.

now the seat at the other end of the head had fallen but not broken up….

Even as bad as this head looks, I was able to fix it and get it back in service…. 4 new intake seats, 3 new valves, and some grinding work in the combustion chamber to smooth it out, Yes it ended up being a little larger cc than the other 3.

How many miles did this engine have? I wonder if its a good idea to remove the heads and have them ported and worked fixing this issue at the same time. I have a 5.7 Hemi in my truck.

I do not have any Idea how many miles were on the engine.
But I have called a few other shops and they are starting to see it too.
I replace the sintered metal seats with a High nickel alloy seat, Just like the ones I use when I have to fix the escort/focus head.
