Anyone have a set of "big" 2 piston 93-94 or GVR4 front brake calipers/brackets for sale in good condition?

Also need a set of upgraded aftermarket pads, suggestions on what is the best pad available for these calipers, and good places to buy them.

Thanks for reading.

I have always been happy with the Porterfield R4S pads. Fine on the street, a tiny bit of squeaking once in a while. No unusual rotor wear. Capable of lapping indefinitely at SC if you back off every other lap, or can do 3-5 hard laps in a row starting from cold. Doesn't sound like much but it's a big step up from most street pads. You can get the direct from the mfg, or cheaper from the usual DSM vendors such as Road Race.

Thanks, Carl! How about the R4-Es? Anyone with experience using those?

All I've heard is that they eat rotors at street temps, but are great on the track.

I've got a set. Only problem is someone bought them from me over a year ago and never picked them up...I'll send him an email and if he still wants them they're his...but if I don't hear back I'd sell to you. It's complete with rotor and everything you would need, but has stock pads.

I only have an email contact for this guy, and he hasn't got back to me. I can find these from time to time so I'd be ok selling them to you and finding him another set if he gets back to me. I'm hoping to get $150 for everything if that sounds good. It's the brackets, calipers, rotors, and i even think the old pads are with it. Everything you need to bolt up and go.

I'm pretty sure I have a set of 1g 2-piston calipers around here somewhere. Gotta find them though.

R4-E's are considered a very aggressive street pad or a midrange track pad.

They dust heavily and squeak like mad when cold, but when they get to operating temperature, they stop like a mutha. On a 3200 lb AWD Eclipse on BFG R1's, the braking setup was only the factory 2-piston brakes with these pads. Under braking, the car was tire limited. That's amazing enough to me.

Be sure to use a good hi-temp fluid, otherwise you'll boil it sooner than you'll get pad fade.

For a moderate street pad that will last beyond what Metal Masters will, try the Akebono ceramics. I have a set on my Talon and am liking them so far. Great cold stopping power, Great overall bite, last longer than Metal Masters and they can withstand a lot more heat before fading than Metal Masters.

By what I've seen, heard and tried, the R4-E's will chew through 1 rotor for every second pad change.
