View Full Version : Pocketlogger and wide band O2

I have a pocketlogger and am about to get a wide band O2 sensor. Is anyone using a wide band sensor connected to their pocketlogger to data log?

How many of you are just using your wide band as a stand-alone system, without connecting to a datalogger? How do you like it.

Thanks,

Terry

I'm using both independently and it works fine. I record a pull on the logger, and keep an eye on the wb at the same time. While memory is not perfect, I know generally where my afr's are vs rpm's, and can review the recorded log to see what's going on with other parameters. I like the wb so much I will never tune a car without one again, and I *almost* feel like I can get rid of my logger and use the wb alone (I like to know what's going on with timing and airflow, though).

Hey Terry,

I use Pocketlogger and have it connected to my wideband. Once you dial in the offset in Pocketlogger, you're good to go.

I like using pocketlogger better that MMCD because with MMCD you have to manually convert each value in the recorded data to make sense of it. With Pocketlogger, the values are recorded accurately.

Craig,

What wideband Air Fuel system are you using? I am looking at an Innovate LC-1.

Thanks,

Terry

Terry,

I'm using the PLX M300. An oldie, but a goodie.

I would recommend that you do go for a WBO2 that you can log, just because, as you know, at WOT things happen quickly and it's hard to remember what was happening and change settings based on your memory.

Craig,

What 5V input into your ECU are you using to input the output of the sensor into? And, where did you splice into the wire?

Thanks,

Terry

Terry,

I used the California EGR Temp input that is unused in non-Cali cars. I don't remember where exactly I spiced into the wire, since it was years ago..., but I believe it was near the wiring harness that enters the ECU.

Craig,

Thanks for the link. I located the connector to the EGR temp sensor for the California Cars. It comes off the main wiring harness right next to the knock sensor. Since the head is off my engine, it is easy to get to.

I have decided to get an Innovate unit with gauge. It appears I will be able to calibrate my pocketlogger to the wideband better if I really know what the wideband is outputting. The gauge should show this.

Terry

Back from the grave.

I really need some help with my pocketlogger. My desktop computer went belly up some time back and I am now unable to get my Palm IIIc to hot sync with the desktop computer to load the logging software into the Palm IIIc.

Craig or anyone else that uses a pocketlogger please help.

Thanks,

Terry

Jared,

I would love some help. Where do we start? The computer I am trying to sync with is my business computer an old XP SP3 system. When it boots up the Hotsync routine says it will connect to Port 2 as soon as it becomes available, but it appears Ports 1-10 are all being used.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Terry

Terry,

I would try manually entering each port. Then try to manually start the syncing process. It definitely took some trial and error to get synced up for the first time when I was using Pocketlogger.

I thought that you could just bring your PDA and hotsync cable by and we would just use my computer to sync the software on it for you.

Craig,

How do I manually enter each port? XP, SP3. I have tried, System, Hardware, Device manager and I haven't been able to figure this out.

Jared,
I also need to be able to sync another program from a Vista laptop to my XP system and have the same problem.

Thanks,

Terry

Problem nearly fixed. I connected a different Palm and it immediately hot synced. Now to get Mike of Pocketlogger to send me a new program that matches my new palm user name.

Thanks guys,

Terry

Terry,

You can also change the user name of your Palm to match Pocketlogger.

But first I have to remember what the old user name was. I tried about 10 and didn't hit it yet.

Ah shoot! I thought you had the old Palm right there. Yeah, you'll have to email Pocketlogger to get that user name.

Craig,

Mike sent me the correct user name and now I have a Pocketlogger that is working again.

Now for other problems in a new post.

Thanks guys,

Terry
