So after putting my tranny back in, my dad was helping and overtightened the axle nut. No when i grab the wheel when i have the car jacked up I can wiggle the tire back and forth. Is there an easy fix for this?

Which direction can you wiggle the wheel? Left/right or up/down? Left/right could be something in the steering system or tie rod ends. Up/down usually indicates a bad wheel bearing. Those have to be pressed out/in for replacement.

I dont know how to say it, but if you would grap the top of the tire with your right hand, grab the bottom of the tire with the left, you can feel it move if you push the top and pull the bottom and you can wiggle it back and forth. It's wierd because I had this problem before and just got new spindles/knuckles and it fixed it. When he overtightened it I heard something loud like he pressed something in maybe. So I would just have to replace the bearing or can i take it apart and press something back in place?

From what you're describing it sounds like a wheel bearing. You won't have to get all new knuckles, just take it apart and get a shop to press in/out the bearing. There's a good vfaq here:

Hope this helps.

How do you overtighten the axle nut? Isn't the torque spec like 180ft-lbs? That's kind of a lot to accidentally overshoot ;)

I tighten the hubs with a 3/4" drive rachet have someone pump up the brakes and stand on the pedal. I then stand on the rachet and tighten the nut . It's pretty close I weight around 190Lbs . As long as you don't use an impact wrench to tighten it up . This has worked for me for along time on several cars with no issues , as long as the bearings have grease in them . I have also taken a needle grease gun attachment and forced grease into the hub bearings on the front axle . I have yet to loose a hub bearing .
