I have been looking at these for a while now and am wondering if they would work out ok with my car. I like them because of the price and because they are a nice bar and plate Garrett intercooler, but I don't ever hear of anyone using them??? Does anybody have one or know of someone who has put one into one of our cars?
I want to go with the second size up- AS1025

Tommy over at Street Concepts has those on the shelf. I get "no name brand" IC sores from Oz that are much cheaper than most and are quality bar and plate technology.

You can get the no name ones from siliconintakes.com for $150
I run one, 12x24x3 core, 3" in and out
Last time on 9sr dyno it worked well enough that it didnt get hot at all on the discharge side, even with the minimal airflow their fans provided and 4 pulls.
Edit: and to answer your question, yes they are good intercoolers.
Is it worth it to you to pay that much for a name brand vs a chinease ripoff that performs 95% as well?

I had an SS autochrome kit on my 2g, I had a good 5-6 dyno runs the same day at 9sr as Seth. The discharge side going the Throttle body was still cool to the touch. You can get them on ebay for about 300 for the whole kit. The kit includes short route piping, I would buy it again. If you have any questions about it, shoot me a PM or something.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I am now looking at other options for an intercooler. I found one that I really like because I like the endtank design and also I believe this one will be more efficient than a side to side intercooler. I could be mistaken but the length the charge air would have to go through would be twice as long as a side to side flowing intercooler.
It would also work well with my Big28 since I would otherwise have to route the piping back from the turbo to the other side.
I did some research to see if anybody has used this type and found almost no info on it... Let me know what you guys think!

Does not look like your average knock off IC, looks pretty nice. I would think the pressure drop would be the downfall of that setup, but it looks like its pretty average, if thier numbers are honest. Cant argue with the price.

I actually have one very similar to that, with a cleaner end-tank design down at the shop- you are welcome to come check it out.

I have the 750hp Precision core and am very impressed and satisfied. It's price was very good as well. The efficiency rating is very high as well.
Heck, I run Precision injectors & turbo as well. :)
