This is a tranny rebuilt locally (I dunno why I can't remember the guys
name ever, something Jones). It was out of a 92 Talon that was totalled 3-5k
miles after having the tranny put in. I'll throw in the t-case. I'd like
$500 for it.

Steve Jones.
He rebuilt the transmission out of my '93.
Shifted perfectly.

In case anyone cares, this is the transmission that was in Norm Schillings teal 1G Talon... and was rebuilt by Steve Jones.

Topic? Capitalization? Punctuation?
As far as I know, he doesn't rebuild transmissions anymore. And I don't think he ever did autos.

The GVR4 has a different rear axle ratio. This transmission will not work for you. But yes, it is a 5-speed.

I thought it was just the Galant GSX that had the different rear
axle ratio. I know that one is different than the GVR4.

News to me. I swore they were different. Maybe it's just the JDM GVR4. Someone in the club recently had an issue...

AFAIK, the transmission will work just fine.
The JDM trannies have a different final drive, but the USDM VR4 trannies have the same final drive as the TEL. The gear ratios are different (1st is longer in the VR4 tranny) but otherwise it will bolt right in and work just fine.
I think Josh just doesn't want to sell this tranny, because it is such an interesting point of discussion. :)

I'm the one with a JDM tranny that doesn't match up with my rearend, so I have to run it FWD. I love the gear ratio though, very close together.

I am keeping this for the time being. Mostly because it's a good conversation piece. Please close the thread.
