Made it tonite , quite a few cars there. 6 passes , 12.9 @109 with the clutch slipping , 6 to 7k rpm . Spun the tires through 1st gear, took the launch limit down to 5k still launched with 16psi. Pleased with the car now I need a stronger clutch to hold the power !! Such a dilemma !! 29 psi on 100 oct gas. 11.4 afr.

What clutch are you using now?

I think he's got the southbend kevlar disk with an ACT 2100 pressure plate. Maybe you need more pressure plate? This disk with an ACT 2600 pressure plate was working well for a guy on tuners in the low 11 to high 10s range. They are supposedly sensitive to heat, though. If you heat them up too much, they'll slip until they cool down again. I don't have direct knowledge of this, so I could be wrong.

Yeah I read that too , that's why I used the disc. If you let it cool down for an hour it will hold , but it still started slipping , 5.5k - 7.5k rpm. I had to back off on the gas so it didn't get any worse. It is a 2100 act p. plate . It holds enough to spin the wheels through 1st gear , second is fine, 3rd starts to slip at high rpm and same for 4th. I really don't want 100 lb clutch pedal pressure though. I might try the south bend product with a 2600 lb p.plate.

Have you thought about an ACT 2900 PP? Compaired to the ACT 2600, I understand that it has less pedal pressure but greater clamping force. I haven't personally tried one though...

Yes , my friend Pat has one in his talon. I guess the pedal pressure isn't too bad . It will be a while before I tear it down, I have to do some drive by emission testing first.
