What would a 60-1 on average do at 15psi as far as lb/min? Mines doing 30. It seems to low I know this turbo is for 20+ but I have I'm keeping it down for daily driving. so I'm wondering where am I at? bad good... Stock motor and ofcourse the supporting mods. Thanks

Sounds right to me.

You arent going to get big airflow at that psi unless you have a larger motor.

The compressor map shows anywhere from about 23lb/min to about 52lb/min. 30lb/min sounds about right for a 2.0.

Any peticular reason your trying to find out? Or just to compare. The likelyhood of other people with 60-1's running that low of boost I would think are pretty rare..

Many of those units run low boost from what I have seen. Many use them in their Hondas or high compression applications. Since the comp wheels efficiency range is so low, it is uncommon for people to use them that will run more than 23PSI of boost. 1980's turbo technology is super yo! I have seen a couple of people though get over 30PSI out of them, but you are just blowing hot air at that point. My old GVR4 had one, and all I did was run it at 23PSI all the time. Never went above it because it didn't do anything... Never got a lb/min number out of it either though...

Yeah, at sea level the pressure ratios aren't so high, so they probably work quite a bit better down there in the 25+psi range.

I never thought a 60-1 was a good turbo at altitude. Some of the Honda guys seemed to do good at extremely low boost (7-10psi) but they might have been running the HI-FI version of the 60-1 (or even a T04E 60-trim, or 60-2, since I'm convinced most morons don't know the difference between all of the above and will say one thing and mean another), and also I'm going off quarter mile times and since Honda's are light "good" may be relative. To me "good" was low 12s at 7-10psi, but that's a 2500lb (or less) car.

Well, on mine I had a T04S .70 A/R comp housing and a stage 3, 76 trim, .63 A/R turbine. It wasn't very good. I believe Tyler had the same thing in his 2.3L awhile ago as well. A guy with a Honda has one with a .82 A/R turbine I built for him awhile ago. He made over 500hp off of it at over 30PSI. A friend of mine had the Hifi unit in his GVR4 with just a stage1, .48 A/R turbine and it performed okay. He changed the turbine housing to a .63 A/R, but the idiot had the comp wheel suck in a piece of something before he could run it to tell the difference. I still have that thing sitting here. The Hifi unit really sucks, because the comp wheel is hacked to fit a tiny housing and so is the backing plate. It's difficult to find a new wheel that isn't grossly out of balance... I used to like the 60-1s a few years ago, but there are far better turbos out there now for the same money.
