I'd prefer a Profec B, but I guess I'd probably even take a straight-up Hallman.
Whatcha got?

John - can you point me to a link? I just registered there. Searching has been fruitless thus far.

I bought it and it's living under the hood of my LGT. :) My "just found" was about a month ago.

Ah. Yeah - I did see that thread. ;)
I think I'm just going to go ahead and throw down on the Profec B.

I'd consider something besides the profec b unless greedy has made some decent changes to it. I was unable to hold more than 22-23psi when I used one on the supra, but an old, original hallman valve held whatever I asked of it.
It's nice to have cockpit control, but once it's dialed in is there a need to change your boost setting?

Been buying my boost controllers from http://boostcontroller.com/. He's always had great prices on all the hallman boost controllers. Used to be $45 for a Hallman MBC till they started making the ES and the Pro. I have a Pro now, best boost controller I've ever owned. He was having a sale on them and it was $80 at the time. They are $105 normally. He's got the ES on sale right now for $64, down from $75. But if you want in cockpit type control you could do the Hallman Evolution which is the pro with in cockpit adjustment ($165). He does same day shipping and has always been the best prices around just about. His service couldn't be better.

I guess I just figured it was the best option for the price. I keep getting told that boost response is improved with an EBC over an MBC.
Moreover, I'm only going to be asking it to hold 10psi on the GTO. Often less than that.
On the other hand, I'm cheap, and I agree that in theory, I'll be setting it and forgetting it once it's tuned. Joe P. has a GTO now, so I can probably hit him up for an MBC.
Thanks, guys.

Not to bash on your new boost controller, but I hope its better than any of the other Joe P MBCs I've worked with. I've seen more than a half a dozen POS's that were JoeP's and they were never that great at regulating boost. I hope this new model is a change of pace, but personally I will never try one of their MBCs again. Hallman's MBC's have always been superior in my eyes to the JoeP from personal experiences with both.

Well - if it sucks, I'll pick up the Hallman. I got the Joe P. for what I felt was a more-than-fair price.
Thanks, Chris.

Quality never needs an excuse.

While this is true, I have no reason yet to believe that the Joe P. lacks quality.
