Anyone know how good this turbo is?
I'm wanting to make 300 whp for road racing as soon as I can find a good 7 bolt
You need to scroll down to the 17th one.

The 17th item on that page is a set of injectors. Can you post a direct link to the specific item?

CX racing turbos have been known to grenade themselves fairly quickly.

Mathew, I tried linking just to the one CX, but I kept coming up with the whole page. I must have miscounted or maybe some more were added.
It is a 20g for $299 by CXMotorsports.
Thanks for your opinion, Ryan.
Anyone else?

The only thing I can say with the cut-rate turbos like that is this:
You get what you pay for.
If I were you, I'd save more to get either a used MHI 16g or 20g.
16g's average around $250 where 20g's are about double that (used).
Having a genuine turbo will guarantee that it will last far longer than any knockoff turbo would ever dream of.
I'd skip CX, SSAC, Evo GT's along with any other chinese or knockoff in general.
That "20g" they list isn't even a knockoff of a true 20g. A true 20g had a larger downward firing compressor housing.

Thanks for the clarification on the listing. In general what I've read/seen is that Mitsu-style Chinachargers usually fail pretty quickly and in a dramatic fashion. Look on Tuners and there are a multitude of threads about them failing, with a few success stories sprinkled in. However, it seems that after lurking in the turbo Miata world for a year or so, I've come to discover that the Garrett-style knockoffs fair a bit better overall. Garretts are more popular for Miatas as there are more manifolds availble for that turbine flange, so more are used on that platform. Maybe their longevity is due to the fact that most Miata guys aren't trying to run their turbos at 25+psi, but rather keep boost levels pretty modest (mid teens), so the turbos are not being as abused. Perhaps a Mitsu knockoff run at lower levels will last longer? Who knows.
Another thing is that even if the turbo does not implode, it'll probably be less efficient and effective than the original upon which it was based. There's a thread over on Miataturbo.net where a member switches from a Chinese Garrett-style to the real Garrett of the same dimensions/AR and makes significantly more power. I can't find it at the moment but if I do I'll post a link here.

Marcus, Mathew, thank you both for your advice and info.
I'll stay away.
