Anyone know locally where I can find ATE Super blue brake fluid? 3R is out until about Tuesday. Just wanted to see if there was anywhere else that sold it. Thanks!

Champagne motors on south Broadway.
Bob Tunnel's place in Broomfield. Bimmerhouse or something.
There is an auto parts store in Boulder that carries it that is near McGukins Hardware IIRC.
Call me Bert if you need some better info.
For that matter I have some here if you need it right away.

Thanks Paul! Turns out my rotors are too thin to turn, so this project will have to be delayed for now. You wouldn't happen to know the name of the place in Boulder would you? Thanks for the offer of using your fluid.

I believe that would be Imported auto parts, on pine street.
I buy wholesale from them, if'n you need a quantity of stuff, let me know, and I'll give you the hook-up. :D
They are a good compromise between dealer/o.e. and the chain stores like checker.
Service is good, and shipping is insanely fast
Their phone number is 303-443-4763

Thanks! Don't know that I'll need more than 1 or 2 cans. I'll run by there this week sometime. Thanks again.

2 cans.
2 cans! (use to be Maria's section mascot.)
This sounds like the place I bought it from. I suppose that was a couple years ago.
Autosport Werks guy said they would order it in for me if I wanted it.
Bob Tunnel's shop has it too. Both blue and DOT legal gold. His shop is just a couple blocks west of 9 Second Racing.

Is there a reason (aside from cost) that you use ATE Super Blue / TYP 200 instead of Motul RBF 600? RRE used to sell it for $9 / half liter, but the price has gone up to $12.

Almost twice the cost. I have never had any trouble using Super Blue.

Gotcha. Well, at least the Motul seems to work well, so I don't feel too bad about spending an extra $10. :)

Do you stock the DOT legal "GOLD"?

Just as an aside, after testing nearly every brake fluid available I found that the PFC brake fluid worked awesome in pretty much everything but the Vipers, which wanted MOTUL.In fact it performed better than even the Castrol million dollar fluid, the ATE fluids, and all the more "common" stuff like Wilwood etc. Its much cheaper than pretty much everything else too. Also, theres a Ford fluid available at thier dealers which is pretty good too.

Gold Super Blue?
Is it an ATE product?

Bummer, I haven't gotten brake fluid yet, but you're shop isn't on my way home anymore. :( I'm working in Boulder now.
The "gold" I think Paul is referring to is the ATE Typ 200. Same specs as the super blue supposedly, only a different color.

Correct. Technically Super Blue is not DOT legal.

My house is still on your way home though! I'll drag some home with me if you'd like.
I can get Typ 200 too. I didn't realize this is the fluid you're always talking about Paul. It's marketed as "extended life".
It's like $12 a liter.

Huge thanks to Jason for saving me the trip to his shop. Got the ATE super blue on Sunday, now I just need rotors to finish my 2 piston caliper upgrade.

I switched from blue to gold when I found out about it. Plus I could just see a court case blaming me because I didn't have DOT approved brake fluid!
I like the price!
