I'd like to see about relocating my coil pack to the firewall but the issue that I'm running into is that the plug wires aren't long enough. I need another 8" or so.

Anybody have any idea where I can get some longer spark plug wires?

NGK has plug wires that are longer, thats what I use.

Thanks for the quick reply.
How much longer? Is it a different part number then the normal plug wire set?
Thanks!

I bought some Crane Firewires on clearance a while back that were meant for a 1G NT. They're quite a bit longer than the OEM wires--long enough to reach the firewall when I mounted my coil pack in the upper driver's side corner of the engine bay (GVR4).

You can also buy bulk wire and terminals from Magnecor, and others I presume...for that "finished" look....

Thanks for the info Erik, I'll try to find some 1g NT wires.

Seconded - I did this on my 73 Duster and it worked great.

Well, I went to the autoparts store and had them pull down a 97 Talon TSI set and a 92 Talon Non-turbo set. The non-turbo set was longer but only by about 2.5 inches. Unfortantly, this just isn't long enough.
I also looked at some cables for the Vision but the spark plug boots were longer so they wouldn't work.
I did see that Magnacore will make custom cables upon request. I might go down this route.

The wires I have seem much longer than just 2.5" more than standard turbo wires. When connected to the normal coil pack location, they loop down a good amount. I've confirmed that they reach the firewall on my GVR4. It must just the particular manufacturer--in which case it's a moot point, since these particular wires are no longer made (the reason I got them on closeout directly from Crane).

Custom wires from Magnacore will probably work out and look better anyhow. You could build them yourself; but by the time you buy all the tools and materials, it probably works out to the same cost or more. On the other hand, if you expect to be burning through cables and need replacements in the future, it might not be a bad way to go.

Buy a set of MSD super conductor wires for a v8, make sure they are the cut to length ones, and now you have plenty of length, excellent wires, enough for 8 wires for less than the price of 4 magnacores, and it only take you a few minutes each to "build" your wires.

I ran these wires on my eclipse with no problem, stock coils, 7es plugs, and it worked well for me.
