As some of you know, yesterday was the Annual CSMA Bandimere Track Day. Sometime between now and next year's event, we really ought to come up with another name for the event, since CSMA has all but completely fizzled out into nothingness.

At any rate, I went to the event wearing my Rocky Mountain GTO Founder Guy hat. Brought some RMGTO merchandise, banner, etc. 12 of my members showed up. I only saw three DSMs there, one of whom being Jon Sisk. I would have liked to have seen more CODSMers, but c'est la vie. I'll try not to take it too personally.

We were a little confused by Bruce going back and forth between the evening Test & Tune being free for the Track Day participants or having it cost $10. We got a late start and they made Last Call a bit early.

Some strong RMGTOers - I was anxious to see our two turbocharged members and how they'd do. One was running a stock STS kit and the other a custom twin kit from Dragon Race Engineering. Both ran 13.2 @ 112 with 2.2 second 60' times. The guy with the twins was really babying his car, though, so as not to grenade his completely-stock drivetrain. 5psi.

I want a turbo for mine so bad I can taste it.

I would have been there if my car were up and running. :p

Sorry, Mike. :(

Wouldn't it have been cool if an STS turbo setup magically appeared while they were fixing your rear quarter panel?

Or very shortly thereafter...?

Finger on the trigger.

They really should do those every week. I was there for 3 hours and got 19 runs in. It was really cool racing the GTOs - put 2 or 3 lengths on them out of the hole and then they'd just reel me in. I was running low 13s at 102 and they were running the same ETs at 110. Good thing it's only a 1/4 mile :)

High points of the day included beating a viper by nearly a second and killing EVERYBODY off the line (except the other DSM that didn't break) with 1.7 60's:D It really makes me appreciate how fast the coDSMers in the 11s are

I know of such a place on East Colfax this could come true! It's only six blocks away from where it currently is staying! How convenient! :D :D :D :

Jason - I want to set up a group buy for these STS'. Can we discuss pricing, etc.? I'm hoping to sell enough for you that I could 'earn' my own. :p

Exactly what I had in mind.

We'll talk this week and see if we can put this together.

-Hoping to "earn" enough for a kit for myself.

I was REALLY wanting to be there and would have but I had a family thing come up. I had to make a emergency trip to Phoenix. Family before cars, oh well. Since I have never been to the track before can someone suggest another good place/time for a newbie? I'm in the springs, so I'm thinking about a TnT at PMI...

I would agree that it was a fun day even though I broke my 3 bolt and never got a good run in... If I could have fixed blowing out my intercooler couplings and turning into a FWD it would have been a great day. But it was nice to meet some people... I just wish there had been some quicker cars out there... Oh well...

I dunno - I thought there were some very quick street cars out there. 108+ trap speeds? In my book, that's pretty bleedin' quick.

MY car was quick (lol) :D
