Hello guys,
I just bough a 97 Talon AWD with the following mods:
- evo3 16g
- 3" exhaust with cat
- greddy BOV
- 1g CAS and
- 10 psi, car runs at
- stock fuel systems
The only anyoning problem that i am having with this car is everytime i drive on the highway the car loses power at a constant speed (70mph) with 3000 + rpm. However, when i put the gear back to neutral it temporary makes the problem goes away and the problem will come back.

******Things i changed but the problem still exist.*****

- NGK spark plugs (.028) and wires
- MAS

***Things that i suppect to cause the problems****

- not enough fuel at high rpm (fuel pump, fuel filter)
- 1g CAS (don't know how to adjust the timming)

Please help me diagnose this problem

I would recommend replacing the spark plug wires.

I did, They are only a week old

I doubt this. Maybe if it was at 7000 or 8000 rpms.

How did you pull the code ie. how are logging?

First check your timing by hooking up with someone who does know how. The last time I saw this problem, someone had screwed up putting the 1G CAS on and timing wasnt working properly - have someone make sure its put in/together properly.

Misfire codes are also related to the transistor pack. See if someone can do a test swap with you.

Sorry, I missed the "and wires" part.

Although I have personally had problems with new NGK wires. I've been running magnecors ever since.

Something else simple you could try is to run the engine in the dark and look for arching. <shrug> Can't hurt.

I went to Checkers asked them to check for the CEL and it came up with two codes
-P0300 (random misfire)
- related to waste gate solenoid, that thing is not hookup to anything at all

Do you know of anyone who knows how to do the timming related.
- I will bring the car over to their house

Check the vfaq:

I just did mine not too long ago and it's pretty easy...

- What does it look like ? and how does it cause misfire ?
