NOTE: the following guidelines are intended for the express purpose of helping you sell your stuff faster in this forum. If you have suggestions, comments, or questions, please post them in the appropriate forum (http://co.dsm.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=15) or send a Private Message to the Board Administrator (http://co.dsm.org/forums/member.php?u=3).

Titles

Start with your thread's purpose. This helps the casual viewer discern between threads where parts are being sought, and threads where parts are available for purchase. FS:For Sale WTB: Want To Buy. WTT: Want To Trade.Example: FS: Turbo Upgrade

Try to give a brief description of the item in the title.
Example: FS: EVOIII B16G
Compare this to the following:
Example: FS: Turbo Upgrade
As you can imagine, a casual observer on the prowl for a new turbo will see the former thread title first.

It's very helpful to list your location. If a potential buyer sees that you're close in proximity to where he/she lives, they may feel that it's more worthwhile to purchase your product than the same product from someone who is farther away.
Example: FS: EVOIII B16G - Aurora

Although it would seem to make sense to do so, avoid listing your asking price in the title of your thread. Once posted, a user does not have access to change the title of the thread.

Thread Body

Be brief, but try to include all of the information that your potential buyer might need to facilitate the transaction. Remember back - use as many of Five Ws as are applicable. Who

What

Why
I am selling an EVOIII B16G available immediately in the Aurora area as I have decided to install a larger turbo. Condition is important; be forthcoming with any details. if your item has blemishes, make them known. If your item is flawless, make that known as well. Use common terms to describe the condition and type of item that you're selling or looking for: NIB: New In Box OE: Original Equipment OEM: Original Equipment Manufacturer Don't be afraid to set your payment terms. If cash is the only method of payment you're willing to accept, then make that clear in your thread.

For most, PayPal is a viable option of payment, as it's intended to protect both parties involved in the transaction. If you are new to PayPal, you owe it to yourself to be as educated as possible:

Above all else, be careful when making transactions with people you don't know. Exercise caution and common sense. If a deal seems too good to be true, it might just be.
