ok, so I want to make sure the temp sensor on my thermostat housing is in the right place. I have a 1G thermostat housing and I'm not sure if the temp sensor goes in the top of the housing (right below the filler cap) or down on the bottom part (on the lower half of the housing under the thermostat). Or does it even matter?
Thanks everyone!

Below the t-stat will give an accurate indication of engine coolant temperature.
Above the 'stat will give radiator discharge temp.

Is a temp sensor one of those things that you should buy from the dealer or will a napa part do the trick?

Napa sensors work fine. I picked up a Napa one yesterday and found out that I don't need it. If you want to pick it up from me, let me know.

Thanks, but I'm in Fort Collins. Guess I'll swing by napa up here...
