I'm just looking for some ideas here. The tranny has been swapped so it probably isnt' that. I'm thinking transfer case? Could be CV joint maybe? Here's what happened. Somebody else was driving my car, they lurched it forward then stalled it in gear. It came to an abrupt stop. They did this 3 times. After that the noise was there. The click is wheel rolling dependant. I can't see anything visually just looking at it. Before I start ripping stuff off the car, just wanted some direction. Thanks!

Alright cool, I'll focus there. CV joint isn't as bad as transfercase. I wasn't really suspecting it because it's been my experience that CVs make noise while turning, which this is not. Although thats in a normal CV joint wearing out situation, this is probably a forceful damage situation.

Are the boots on the CV axles still intact?

As far as I can tell they are not leaking or anything. In fact that CV and boot have been replaced within the last 2 years. Not much driving on it since it's been replaced. I was thinking though maybe the jarring broke something loose.
Do you have another idea? I am definately open..Thanks!

Hmmm...
Strange. Tough to say without listening to the car. CV pops are usually pretty loud if you have your head out the window. If it's more of a feel, could be internal. I would sure look at the CV's first though, that's the easy part.

Inner CV joints don't complain as much since don't have to cope with such severe angles they and don't care (very much) which way the wheels are pointed
